Danvers State Hospital

Danvers State Hospital by Kirkbride.
This is a room in the basement of the Danvers State Hospital Kirkbride building. I don't know for certain but I assume these were the suitcases of patients and were left after the patients died or moved to another hospital. Seems if they were released, they would have taken their suitcases with them.

As with a lot of things inside these old hospital buildings, these were just left here to rot and had been ransacked by the curious. They were probably neatly stacked when the place first closed.
