Massachusetts Kirkbride (abandoned)

There was a large fire here which destroyed almost the entire administration section. It's really a tragedy. This is the rear part of the administrative center. You can see the area where the stage used to be. Almost all Kirkbride buildings have, or at least had, a theater. Part of the intended purpose of an insane asylum was to get patients to participate in activities they might take part in during their lives outside the asylum. Pageants, plays, concerts, and presentations were often given for the benefit of the patients as well as the hospital staff.

The rest of this building is being left to rot and fall in on itself.
