Dixmont State Hospital

Not my favorite Kirkbride by a long shot, but an interesting building. It's gone now and they're putting up a Wal-Mart in its place.

(These were taken several years ago with my first camera. The quality isn't so great.)

2 slides and an unfathomable amount of workplace accidents.

This place has a really opressive and heavy look to it, almost like some of the UK asylums, beautiful red brickwork too.

I agree about its look. This one didn't have the sort of otherworldly charm that places like Danvers and Hudson have. It had a brutally clinical look that the decay enhanced rather than softened.
