Princess mirror!

when I look in the mirror I sometimes think that I'm too old to be doing self portraits and often ask myself when should I stop. How do you know when to stop?

I know for a fact I'm not a model, I don't look like one nor do I have the body of one so perhaps I shouldn't worry about when I should stop doing self portraits. Perhaps one day someone will come on my stream and just say "ugh you need to stop doing sp's lovely" and maybe that will be the day when I sit up and listen. In all honesty though I'll probably tell them to piss off!!!!!

Off to put my feet up in front of the coal fire as I have yet another cold coming on. I hate winter.

besides... i never even think of the age of some of the female sp artists on here... and then i find out some of them are older than i expected, but i don't think twice about it.. doesnt make a difference to me!!

Now, the pic - love it!! Faved it as soon as it came onscreen... and i really really like the second version crop too... love how it draws me into the pink bra and doll-like face...
however, the full version is good because it shows off the great bathroom floor and also that cool leg angle. I also like the object on either side of you peeping into the frame... like they are part of a still-life study...
love the lighting, the cool sober tones, the slightly 'uncanny' look about you (i've got the Uncanny on the brain as I'm doing it in English, hence my latest upload) - you remind me somewhat of Olimpia in Hoffmann's uncanny tale The Sandman.. the woman who turns out to be a clockwork doll...

anyway i'm starting to waffle like you ;))

The original has great composition, lighting and pose (I even like the curled toes!), the cropped version would make a great bra advertisement …very pretty!

You don't look old and your sp's are FUN! Age shouldn't come into it. Try taking zinc for the cold, it really helps ward them off. It's worked for me. (Either that or the regular skinny diping in the north sea, I'll leave you to decide which you would prefer!)

my grandma had a mirror just like that - i was obsessed with it as a nipper. lovely sp, madam. don't talk tosh about age and its relevance to photography. and has got eff all to do with it. i'm interested in composition and technique not just how pretty or skinny or whatever the "model" is. give me someone with character any day rather than an immature bit of skin and bone. but i would say that. i'm fat and i'm 30. heh. x

Adore the pose and the closeup as well. The wider angle brings the feet and the legs closer to the viewer and elongates the area leading up to the torso. The checkerboard tile and the b/w tie very well together. Looking quite tawny in the new year.

Your selfportraits beats alot of other photos out on...say...flickr, both technical and modelwise. Anytime you feel like it you can just decide to have a shoot. You don't need call around to fetch a model, or a photographer. Seems to me you're graced with a blessing alot of people would hack off their arm to get. You look good, I wouldn't dare to presume your age...but it would probably be way younger than you apparently are, you've got good lighting, a nice pose, and the theme of the image fits nicely. Keep it up and keep at it.
