little Georges

Early coin shrinking attempt at 10 kV (15 kJ) using very long connecting wires leading to the coil.
Later attempt, also at 10 kV (15 kJ) using shorter wires.
8500 V (~10.8 kJ) using the new rig with short solid copper bus bars. Much better current transfer means more shrinkage using less energy.

This shot used only 2/3 of the energy used on the quarter to the left, but it ended up a little bit smaller!
9000 V (~12 kJ) using the new rig with short solid copper bus bars. Even smaller.
One of our best shots yet: 10 kV (15 kJ) using the new rig with short solid copper bus bars. Very, very tiny!

Coins shrunk at various amounts of energy. The quarter at the top is unshrunk for scale.
