When for the first time I visited Penang (Malaysia) about twenty years ago I wanted to enter an old Buddhist temple. It was impossible. In the moment I saw the big Buddha statue I could not hold my tears. I cried so loud I did not want to disturb anybody. I tried it the next day. The same procedure and result… I am quite sure I have been a monk in that monastery once. I believe in reincarnation. Anyway, this experience led me to practice meditation and I discovered who I really am. I started as a businessman and ended up as a Buddhist freak. I am not a Buddhist from a religious or confessional point of view. I have just a Buddhist heart.

Als ich das erste Mal Penang (Malaysia) besuchte, vor knapp zwanzig
Jahren, wollte ich einen buddhistischen Tempel betreten. Das war mir
unmöglich. In dem Augenblick, in dem ich die große Buddhastatue
erblickte ergriff mich ein heftiger Weinkrampf. Ich schluchzte in
einer Lautstärke, dass ich es nicht wagte den Tempel zu betreten. Ich
wollte die Andächtigen nicht stören. Am nächsten Tag versuchte ich es
noch einmal. Das gleiche Ergebnis…
Vom Gefühl her bin ich mir sicher, dass ich in diesem Kloster einmal
gelebt habe. Für mich ist Reinkarnation eine Tatsache und der Vorfall
nicht allzu ungewöhnlich. Durch dieses Erlebnis fand ich zur
Meditation und ich entdeckte für mich, wer ich wirklich bin. Ich
begann mein Leben als Geschäftsmann und sehe mich heute als
buddhistischen Freak. Ich bin kein Buddhist in Bezug auf Religion oder
Konfessionalität. Ich habe nur mein buddhistisches Herz entdeckt und
fühle mich zuhause. Das ist alles.
