Blériot: Maiden Voyage
I more or less finished building the Blériot today. Took it out for a 25-or-so mile spin with a nice climb up Humboldt Rd. (a notoriously rough road), over a few wooden bridges around town, and back home. The bike performs with steady grace and predictability, and the fatty 32mm tires make it a pleasure to ride.
I took this photo with my phone, just after a storm had passed. This is facing east toward the Sierra Nevada mountains. Behind, to the west, were clear and sunny skies. :-) Still to come: shellac over the bar tape, Honjo fenders, a Nitto mini front rack, and a Nigel Smythe little loafer - in green tweed, of course. Perhaps a lowrider for camping and definitely fatter tires! Commentscyclotourist
