Umar Karemani
Umar Karemani was already producing and selling briquettes and improved cookstoves, when he met GVEP's staff. So when he heard about GVEP's Developing Energy Enterprices Project, providing technical training and business development support, he enrolled right away.

Thanks to the support received he went from selling 20 cookstoves and about 200kg of briquettes a month to selling an average of 50 cookstoves and 2,000kg of briquettes per month.

"I manage to make 500,000 Uganda shillings ($200) for the cookstoves and about 400,000 UGX ($160) for the briquettes per month", he says smiling.
