I havent posted on here for ages, if you want to see more stuff I am posting on my guymckinley.tumblr.com/ far more frequently. Using it for a lot of the process shots I am taking while painting nowadays. This particular piece is part of a series of Apache Girls I am painting for a show in Vancouver in April. I have just finished it today. Its all pencil and watercolour for any of the colour that appears. This shot is with my phone so its not the very best of sorts, but you get the idea.

This was from the end of last year, thanks to Al, Nick and Julia of Computer Arts Projects for the commission. I absolutely loved this brief, right up my street.

I guess I am known for having a fair few Japanese influences in my work, so imagine getting the opportunity to have free reign on a piece entitled Inspired By Japan.

Was fun and its nice getting a double page spread (though I've still not seen it in the flesh) :( if anyone has a spare copy and fancies donating or selling it, email me info@guymckinley.com

This is the flyer (front and back) with a list of all the amazing artists that are involved in this years New Moon exhibition that is held at my Plastic Heart every year.

I have a couple of pieces in it that I am not allowed to post before the launch which is this Friday the 11th of February.

My first snap and upload to Flick from my phone. Just a snap of the sketch I was working on watching telly with the Missus.

Here is the final version of the sketch I posted earlier. Added a bit of colour and tidied her up a lot. She came out nice, but what to do with her now...

The actual piece is the full one to the right, the other are just close up details so you can check out the texture. It a bit low res, but it would probably make a nice desktop image.
