Brilliant!
This is surely taking the concept of a "throw-away" society to extremes!!!
Was this set-up or did you really come across this by chance?
btw: first seen in THE ART OF SERENDIPITY - Flickr at the Getty Gallery, 2009

Just went by the Getty show. If you're not back from Berlin yet - you're opposite the front door, basically the first thing you see as you go in. You're also the first artist mentioned in the (slightly dubious) exhibition text on the wall. Congrats - it's large and packs a punch, though perhaps not quite as sharp as it appears here.

Yes, the print looks to be larger than I would have printed from the scan size. But what's wrong with comparing me to Stanley Kubrick?
sixbysixtasy 45 months ago | reply
;-) Nothing at all, Stanley K. Batey. I rather meant the concept behind the show - 'Serendipity'. They make the odd claim that flickr photographers are somehow a new breed of photographers, different from 'professional' commercial photographers, who only photograph friends and family, capturing 'life as it is lived'. As if all 'professionals' never rely on a nice dose of good luck, and 'amateurs' couldn't possibly have thought about or set up their shot. Its all salesmanship really, but it seems a little transparent.
