It is a very beautiful and elegant image - everything works in harmony and spatial elegance - very oriental in tone - was that your intent? It looks like a masterful Japanese Enamel Box. You might play around with adding just an absolute sliver of more black space at the bottom just as a "possible" not sure it would add anything, but I might give it just a little breath for all the beauty.

Excellent shot. I think this is about as delicate a shade of red you can get without being pink... wonderful.

    19. GustavoG (98 months ago | reply)

Are you writing a book? :)

    20. ocherdraco (98 months ago | reply)

Maybe someday. But if you don't mind me posting it, I've just fiddled around in photoshop and made a book cover out of your photo.

    21. GustavoG (98 months ago | reply)

      I'm curious. :)

I don't think so, but thanks for the suggestion.

Do you realize how bizarre these statements are? The admin of the group invites me to post the image, presumably because it's appropriate, but I have to "proof" (presumably "prove") that it is so? Shouldn't your invitation be enough?

Nice, I just discovered these at the very back of our huge hillside garden. It's not quite fall yet here but these were blazing out from all the brown and green. Quite a nice surprise! I took this and a few others before before sunrise with my flash. Is that what you did? Hmm, seems like the pic got hooked on the flickr circuit! It's a fine photo but I know what ya mean about interestingness - I've got an image of a perfect green fibonacci succulent. It's o.k., but the thing's been faved now over 100 times and I can't stand looking at it any more. My evil twin considers removing it from my stream!

    28. GustavoG (93 months ago | reply)

Yes, this was taken with flash, at night (21:13). I still like it a lot and have no problems with it at all, but I don't think it is that much more "interesting" than more recent work. :)
