Vehicle of Change

Vehicle of Change

Most Punjabis blame the government, complain about the sorry state of affairs and assume they have done their duty. At Sava Lakh Foundation (www.savalakh.org) we believe we are vehicles of change as the Guru ordained. Sava Lakh as a concept was devised by the Tenth Master to empower us. Every person can make a difference. Arm-chair rhetoric never helped anybody. Volunteer your time, money, efforts ਤੰਨ ਮੰਨ ਧੰਨ to affect change. The Western world has excelled because of proud volunteer actions by the populace.

As head of religious affairs of Ek Noor Svai Sevi Sanstha, Baba Swarnjit Singh set up Gurmat Sangeet Academy in village Pathlawa (near Banga, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar) on 12 September 2011 with the active support of Sava Lakh Foundation. The response has been terrific. 101 students joined the first batch. Training in gurbani santhya, keertan, Sikh history, harmonium, tabla will be imparted. The foundation will bring experts of Shastar Vidya (Sikh martial arts) and horsemanship. 'Catch them young and train them hard' is the mantra. Career counseling would be provided to these girls and boys as they pursue regular studies at various schools. Sikh National College, Banga is offering sports and academic scholarships to promising students so they may compete with their peers from cities.

Leader of Generation Next

Leader of Generation Next

Following in the footsteps of illustrious stalwarts like Baba Hari Singh Baba Bakala, Baba Avtar Singh Sur Singh and Baba Nihal Singh Harian Belan, Baba Swarnjit Singh provides leadership to generation next. Widely traveled, his worldview benefits from visits to Vatican, Venice, Berlin, Paris, Brussels and Lahore. Among the first Nihang Singhs to harness the energy of the internet, he keeps folks abreast of the latest developments in Punjab (https://www.facebook.com/swarnjitsingh.nihangsingh).

While most Punjabis lament their political leaders' lack of vision, Baba Swarnjit Singh lives up to the Gurus' teachings ਰੋਸ ਨਾ ਕੀਜੈ, ਉੱਤਰ ਦੀਜੈ, fostering healthy debate. The answers to all our problems lie within us. Spearheading the programs of Sava Lakh Foundation (www.savalakh.org) he believes we are done talking. Our problems cannot be wished away. Solutions can only be affected through hard work and perseverance.

As President, Sant Baba Ghanaiya Singh ji Sports and Welfare Club, he regularly organises football (soccer) and kabaddi tournaments. Promising athletes are identified and their careers furthered through quality education.

As Head of religious affairs of EkNoor Svai Sevi Sanstha he set up Gurmat Sangeet Academy in village Pathlawa (near Banga, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar) on 12 September 2011.
