Hovering Gulls

    The seagulls kept pace with the ferry, presumably hoping for handouts or tax tips. But the photographic advantage of it is that they would at times seem to hover -- just freeze in one spot in the air -- as their speed and direction matched ours, making them much easier to photograph.
