I love the way these two interfaces are exchanging ideas and paradigms. Not only is it fun to watch, but I think it makes a meaningful impact on recent switchers whose first contact with OS X was touch based.

I also trust Apple not to take it too far.

I don't necessarily like this implementation of the switch, but I think it is a great control. In websites for example, it could replace a checkbox, or a yes/no radio button, it gives a much larger hit area and is much easier to see and read than either of the other two options. It could respond to a simple click or a click and drag in the direction you want to flip the switch. And I think it would work just as well with a mouse and touchscreen.
