Jabber bot that sits in your roster, waits for you to log in, looks for a Resource string and sets your location?

A bluetooth client that detects the proximity of your phone and sets your location?

hmmm, seems like any IM client could do this easily by IP. Is this more granular than IP location - like considering nearby access points?

It'd be cool for biz travel if my laptop told GrandCentral not to ring the home phone if I'm in another time zone..
