tempest in a tea cup

Vortex trace
tea tornado
fleetng rainbow of refraction
tiny dropes of water vapour
tempest in a tea cup by greybeard.
The sun shining on my hot apple cider reveals wondrous physics. Infinitesimally small droplets of water vapour cling to the surface. Those droplets that get away rise up and form little vortexes, spinning tornado like leaving spiral traces on the surface of the liquid. The droplets also refract the sunlight forming fleeting patches or iridescence that the camera just can't quite capture. Tastes yummy too!

Oh this is great! For some reason it reminds me of the three witches in Macbeth and their cauldron. Probably because it looks like magic in the making!
