The background of this photo shows the Weehawken NJ ferry terminal and the roadway is the entrance 'helix' ramp to the Lincoln Tunnel to NYC. This is a pretty deep section in the middle of the Hudson river.

Great Picture. This was the most amazing piece of flying you'll ever want to see. To take a dead in the air two engined jet and maneuver it into water without breaking it up Is nothing short of a miracle.....for everyone to get out.....is just incredible. Whomever these two pilots were..they deserve all the accolades US Air can give them.

Suggestion: bump this photo to the top of your photo stream so that it is the first one that people see. This way all comments will go to this one, which is already happening, it is confusing a little bit that this photo is not the top photo but is getting all the comments. I can tell you how to 'bump' this to the top of your stream if you're not sure how, contact me

Hi, I posted your photo cropped onto my flickr stream and I put a link there back to your photo and credit to you, so thank you.

I hope you will make a comment on my photo and say something about what you saw and what it was like to see this and then take the pix and post them asap,

I had a similar experince when Our area was hit with devastating wild fires, (i'm in San diego) I got some front line photos and they were a smash success on the internet and got put on Yahoo news even,

So what an experience to be on the front line of a breaking news event and to be an amateur photojournalist!

Great work.....from the "flickr news station"..

Sometimes flickr photographers bring us a better news story...at first...than CNN.

2009 began with the news Miracle On The Hudson...all 155 people saved and with not many health woes. It could have been Death On The Hudson....but thanks to the great pilot...*Sully*....and his crew....a much better ending.

TEAMWORK....is the happy ending to this story.
