I kept my mouth shut while certain right wing conservative Republican politicians, talk show hosts and Tea Partiers used vitriolic hate speech for the past few years condemning President Obama and Democrats in general, but now I see how citizens staying silent while hate speech filled town halls, rallies, radio and television has failed this country I live in. The take down of the online map targeting with crosshairs politicians who Sarah Palin opposes moments after the assassination attempt of Congressman Gifford is a sign of guilt. Somehow they thought that by taking it down people would forget...but many of us WILL NOT, and we will hold those who used the "Lock and Load" rhetoric so freely responsible for creating an atmosphere where such death and mayhem can take place by those on or over the mental edge. I feel that my silence also added to the atmosphere of hate and division, so I now must speak up for rational thought and discussion that checks out of control emotions, but indeed it is time to hold those with media and political power responsible for creating this atmosphere we live in, and it's time to create an alternative environment where we can communicate and disagree ... but not hate and kill .

good to see you greg. palin is definitely hate-speech personified, dangerously stupid and self-regarding.

Thanks so much for checking in Pete, so good to hear from you. It's nice to be back posting on Flickr, plus thanks for the UK Human Rights Blog on the Arizona shootings. It's always good to the perspective of another country, views we here don't hear on our news. It was enlightening to say the least!
