Whilst driving in a remote part of Tarangire park, we came across 3 lionesses and 2 cubs, taking shade from the midday sun under a bunch of small trees. They were totally calm, our vehicle being less than 4 metres away.

Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania and covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometres. The landscape and vegetation is incredibly diverse with a mix that is not found anywhere else in the northern safari circuit. The park is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing lions.

We arrived at Brooklyn Bridge Park hoping to get a bit of a sunset over Manhattan. Unfortunately the sun was way off further south - there's not much to shoot across the bay with a wide angle, so I put on the 18-200 and got as close in as I could to get the colour of the sunset around the statue. The boat was passing in the foreground but just seemed to frame the shot nicely.
