RPCX= Railroad Passenger Car Numbering Bureau

This car belongs to the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum, but is stored on the SMV. It's a 1926 built, ex Santa Fe diner/lounge/observation car, #1512.

Thanx for the info. A lot of Reporting Mark websites lists RPCX as Ralston Purina, which I found was outdated. I had to do a bit of searching to find an updated Reporting Mark website, but I did find it ...with dates.

It appears that there are a lot of railcars parked along SMVRR tracks, many are Amtrak boxcars.

SMV gets a dollar a day per boxcar from Amtrak. Not sure what UP pays for their cars being there though. There used to be a lot more Amtrak boxcars, but several went to storage on the San Joaquin Valley RR.

That adds up to quite a bit of dollars SMVRR is collecting from Amtrak, and others. Thanx for the info.
