Are you going to go for another large garden
this year? I have never gotten that many
tomatoes out of my yard. Although I do
alright, this is what I strive for. Have any
secrets?

The tomatoes are from our garden in
Watsonville in a small micro-climate that is
one of the best in the world. We lived on
three acres there. Now we live in town, close
to the foggy coastline, with a small yard. No
real gardens since I've had kids. This year,
though, we might have a working kid garden.
Before this, my oldest would have just dug it
up.

Ah, yes, the digging up can be heartbreaking.
Max once dug up an entire bed of carrot
seedlings and I almost cried but I didn't
want him to know how upset I was because he
was just a toddler.
