Miss Kitty was a very cooperative model, letting take her photo...normally if I'm this close, she runs. I love her more and more each day.

One morning, a few weeks ago, there was absolutely no wind, so the Chicago River was a mirror. Kind of unusual for the "Windy City".

She still runs away when we walk towards her, but I see small steps of progress for our new kitty, Miss Kitty. One night she got VERY comfortable in the recliner...the chair she has claimed as her current favorite. She just looked so adorable, totally zonked out in kitty dreamland.

As you are aware, on November 18, we lost our beloved kitty, MayMay. We were devastated by her sudden loss, but we quickly realized we needed to adopt another cat to fill the void in our house and lives.

On Friday we went to the local shelter and adopted a new kitty which we have named Miss Kitty. She is approximately 17 months old, but she has not led a happy life during those months. Her previous owner had her totally declawed, but left her outside (without claws for defense!) to get pregnant. She gave birth to one kitten who subsequently died. The shelter had her spayed after she gave birth.

Needless to say, Miss Kitty is very shy, but she is also a very loving cat. She is getting used to her new Mommy and Daddy, but it will be a slow process before she is totally comfortable with us. However, I firmly believe Miss Kitty will be a wonderful member of our family.
