      Yeah there were several of those little cones and flat-topped hills just in this small region of the country. I am ignorant as to their origins though.

      The flat-topped hills are known as "cerros". There are lots of them in Uruguay and South Brazil.

      Uy! How neat. And it so captures the atmosphere of the countryside in Uruguay. I love the composition, that allows for so much sky, thereby actually emphasizing the road.
