Voltron

gap
Surly you meant "gasp".
Voltron by Grand Admiral.
71 hours of building and several Bricklink orders over the course of about 3 months.

Props to Brian Cooper, without whose Teknomeka frame this wouldn't have been possible.

Special thanks to my wife, who assisted me during the photo shoot.

A friend bought me the Plastic rendition for my 21st years ago. The fact I had to double take to realize it was made of lego and not the original toy shows the high quality of this work.

Looking at it, I would say this is more flexable/agile than the model, (the feet are a stand out.)

One of your finest works.

Holy princess in a bathing suit, Batman! I thought it was the Lion Voltron until I clicked on the picture, and saw it was made from LEGO elements - what a beautiful creation! Great job!

Wow. This would be awesome on its own merits, but the fact that it's composed of the four individual lions is very much head-asploding cool.

I honestly skipped past the thumbnail for this because I thought it was the original which I have seen so many times already. Thank god for TBB or I might have missed this. It´s so (expletive deleted) awesome. I´m in awe and it hurts my head to think about the thought that went into this. A definite masterpiece and instant fave.

If I had to give a point of criticism, I'd have to say the waist (the grey area at the belt) looks a bit too thin. Perhaps I'm wrong, but in my mind's eye my toy version of Voltron had a wider waist. But that's a minor nit pick, really, it's an incredible model.

Thanks for all the props everyone. It's funny, I was originally going to just build a standard Teknomeka frame and skin it to look like Voltron, but Chris started giving me crap asking "Hey does it transform?", so I actually started putting serious thought toward it, and it worked out.

Sometimes friends talking smack about something can make your MOC better. :)

I built Voltron

Voltron was blogged by Kanye West

Kanye West was in State Property 2 with Tim House

Tim House was in In The Cut with Kevin Bacon

That works, right?

ceramite  Pro User  says:

@jonpalmer hahahah yep, like I said I listen to classical AND viking metal (implying more than one). I save Kanye West for when i'm menstruating. ;)

@Grand Admiral, The reason I posted that was because the way he trimmed your description it kind of seems like he proclaimed to make it. And four to Kevin Bacon, WIN!! :)

How different things would have been if Kanye had climbed on stage to say that the Lego Voltron was cooler than any music video he had ever seen...

This happened in an alternate reality. Things got pretty weird. People were soon *eating* kittens (battered on a stick) and wearing Lego as clothing. I was there to witness all this, then left and came to this reality to escape. ;-)
