Da Carta aos Romanos 13,11-12
Já é hora de despertar. Com efeito, agora a salvação está mais perto de nós do que quando abraçamos a fé. A noite já vai adiantada, o dia vem chegando: desponjemo-nos das ações das trevas e vistamos as armas da luz.
Romans XIII 11-12
"And do this because you know the time; it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed;

the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness (and) put on the armor of light."

EVANGELIUM SECUNDUM LUCAM 2,8-14
8 Et pastores erant in regione eadem vigilantes et custodientes vigilias noctis supra gregem suum.
9 Et angelus Domini stetit iuxta illos, et claritas Domini circumfulsit illos, et timuerunt timore magno.
10 Et dixit illis angelus: “ Nolite timere; ecce enim evangelizo vobis gaudium magnum, quod erit omni populo,
11 quia natus est vobis hodie Salvator, qui est Christus Dominus, in civitate David.
12 Et hoc vobis signum: invenietis infantem pannis involutum et positum in praesepio ”.
13 Et subito facta est cum angelo multitudo militiae caelestis laudantium Deum et dicentium:
14 “ Gloria in altissimis Deo,
et super terram pax in hominibus bonae voluntatis ”.

Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock.

The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear.

The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

5 For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.

And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger."

And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:

6 "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

8.Havia nos arredores uns pastores, que vigiavam e guardavam seu rebanho nos campos durante as vigílias da noite.
9.Um anjo do Senhor apareceu-lhes e a glória do Senhor refulgiu ao redor deles, e tiveram grande temor.
10.O anjo disse-lhes: Não temais, eis que vos anuncio uma boa nova que será alegria para todo o povo:
11.hoje vos nasceu na Cidade de Davi um Salvador, que é o Cristo Senhor.
12.Isto vos servirá de sinal: achareis um recém-nascido envolto em faixas e posto numa manjedoura.
13.E subitamente ao anjo se juntou uma multidão do exército celeste, que louvava a Deus e dizia:
14.Glória a Deus no mais alto dos céus e na terra paz aos homens, objetos da Benevolência Divina.
