Perfect Summer Day

Me and my sweetie!

This was a shot I took a couple of weeks ago when my hubbie and I took a ride down the coast to Laguna Beach for lunch..it was a perfect summer day...

Happy Fourth of July to all my fellow Americans!

Well, after my vow yesterday to turn off the "all sizes" tab cuz of finding one of my pics on a web site either for sale or download...it was not in English and they person had a link to my download page on Flickr...I have just decided to not worry about it too much..I have started to post my pics in 72 res and smaller size and of course, the watermark..so at least if someone does steal it..they can only print out to maybe 8 x 10 at best and have to deal with removing the watermark..and like I say and everyone else says..if you have images on the internet, you are always running the risk of them being taken, etc...dang! Anyway, so I turned the "all sizes" tab back on ..it is available to my contacts only. Not sure what to do about posting a link anymore via the "on black" feature provided by Big Huge Labs..oh and some of you wanted to know how did I find out my pics were on web sites and / or blogs..

go to : www.bighugelabs.com and scroll down to "view my DNA"..here you can fill in your flickr info and it comes up with stats for you...at the bottom of this pages...you will see a list of search engines and so on..click on each one of those and you will find links to your own pics as found on the internet...

While your awards, comments, visits and faves are very much appreciated....Please NO MULTIPLE INVITES or GLITTERY graphics!!!

Nice work, Sue! Laguna Beach certainly is a beautiful place! I used to love flying over it, due to all the different colors in the water.

I'm glad you came to the conclusion not to let it bother you that somebody linked to your photo. That's pretty much my philosophy, too, except that I share versions that are 900 pixels high and I even license all of my shots under Creative Commons. If I were into photography to make a living, I might feel differently, but my current perception is that people who link to my photos only provide extra views and thieves don't even warrant thinking about.

I stopped worrying about people stealing my photos some time ago. While it annoys me that people can be so dishonest, I feel if they want to steal it then there's not much I can do to stop them.

Laguna Beach is lovely........its like a reminder of the south of France but so so California at the same time
I stayed at one of the old converted mission Inns which was wonderful.........had a nice view of the ocean on my second level balcony at the Casa Laguna

WOW...it must really suck to live there! (: I adore this shot...it's just so beautiful and serene looking! Sorry that one of your images was grabbed...I am always paranoid about that too, my husband says the same thing...."If you want to protect them, don't put them up on Flickr!" Can you tell he gets tired of hearing about it? I just set them so you can't take more than medium and call it good. I have an incredibly honest friend on here that buys a lot of my photographs through Etsy.com so I think a lot of people will start doing that as long as they are not outrageously expensive per print! Ahhhhh, Laguna. I have so many wonderful memories there. Love the Harvest Festival and the Pageant of the Masters and walking through all the little stores in the wonderful downtown area. Such a beautiful area. Fabulous capture. I especially love the colors in the water. BTW, you asked if I do my photo manipulations on my laptop. Indeed, I do. And when I pull them up on my hubby's monitor - I hate them! I've struggled with this for awhile now. Monitors all differ so drastically. Just when you think you have them right, you look at them elsewhere and your color corrections are out the window. And then Flickr does it's own number on their color and contrast - so it's just about impossible to be anal about how they appear! I prefer the look of my laptop monitor to the larger monitor my hubby has - we all have different situations I suppose! Happy 4th to you, my dear! Enjoy your evening!
