DensGlass(r) Sheathing in Alaska

A mighty Alaskan Muskox is witness to the progress of the new Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome Alaska, part of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. The new hospital construction features DensGlass® Sheathing from Georgia-Pacific Gypsum, covered with Henry BlueSkin® Air Barrier System. DensGlass Sheathing, a moisture-resistant fiberglass-mat gypsum panel, can help protect the new hospital from the elements of this area of North West Alaska, which is at the edge of the Bering Sea and just South of the Arctic Circle. DensGlass Sheathing was ideal during the construction cycle as it can help prevent water intrusion and control moisture entry from the outside to help reduce the potential for mold growth inside to enhance the long-term performance of the building.

Versatile DensDeck® Roof Boards are utilized in a wide variety of roofing systems for new and re-roofing applications as cover boards, overlayments and underlayments. Featuring a combination of fire resistance, strength, moisture resistance and dimensional stability, DensDeck roof boards enhance the performance of all roofing assemblies and are widely respected by leading roofing system manufacturers and consultants. DensDeck roof board, with its fiberglass mats, has been shown to withstand delamination, deterioration, warping and job site damage far more effectively than paper-faced gypsum board or other conventional roofing products, such as wood fiberboard and perlite.
