What Half a Lens Will Get You
The front element of an Emil Busch Bis-Telar lens fell into my lap so I decided to play with it, not knowing the f-stop or focal length or anything since this was basically half a lens and was never intended to be used by itself. Well, doing a landscape shot with it results in massive blur and somewhat sharp center. The effect is pretty dreamy. It's close to what happens when you reverse a meniscus lens. So, logically, if I reverse this one, it should be close to a normal meniscus, right? We'll see....
Taken with the Speedy G and Arista Ultra 400 (foma 400) and -- for the first time -- a 70-minute stand development in Caffenol-C-L. No post-processing.
P.S. I calculated the f-number to be around 2.4 and the FL around 3-1/2 inches.
