Shaking a stick at someone or -thing implies
rivalry, defiance or panic. It is a
threatning gesture. There is also the
expression "more.... than you can shake
a stick at", suggesting abundance or an
overwhelming size, more of something than you
are able to handle.
In this case I think it implies that the
user is unfamiliar with the more common ways
to make a computer cooperate.
But of course... it is a lot funnier
without trying to analyze it. :)
