This morning on West Beach, Sanibel - just as the sun came up was the most beautiful cloudscape I have ever seen

I was out running and so only had my pocket cam with me - and these photos don't even start to show how wonderful it was.

We had everything from violet, flashes of lightning, rainbows. AWESOME!

Isn't nature wonderful?

This is an amazing shot with the clouds seeming to follow the curve of the shoreline. The colors are unbelievable.

I once ran into a man (a deeply tortured artist) at a coffee shop whom I had read about in a magazine. In the article, I could not believe the pain and hardship and sense of loss this man had lived through. In some ways I guess, I related. Anyway, when I saw him, I looked very closely at his face deeply into is eyes and asked in a slow deliberate way,

"How are you?". I think I was surprised to see him... to see him... well... not dead. It was almost as if I was talking with a ghost.

He replied, "Today... (pause)... is a good day to be alive." And that was it. It had a tremendous impact on me and I will never forget it.
