The old - the new

    Newer Older

Amazing contrast....at Lords cricket ground, London.

At the pavilion end of the ground….these fine old wooden seats 120 years old.
At the media centre end….cool, sleek modernity.

Both are beautiful in their own ways

Get me a seat on the left, if you'd be so good. No comparison to my mind.

      You watch cricket from indoors?

      Thanks all

I think I should have posted these pics separately!

Anyway - both by comments (and also a couple of emails) it looks like we all like the wooden ones best. (I'll maybe post a picture of the Long Room later too)

Wolfy - yes some people sit indoors....there are big glass sash windows that get lifted to open the room up to the outside. Well, I guess this way they are closer to the bar!!

Strange, they didnt allow me to take photographs in the pavilion.

Gauri - yeah, well lucky!! I was delighted! Got off with it because Alec Stewart showed us around, that's why!!!!! (And I agreed not to take pictures of the paintings on the wall)
I know some people with the sponsors of the English team!!

      Ah-ha! this is great.
I can see the line and subject match well and the colours are complementary too.
Can't wait to see your "homework" :-D it will look great as an exaggerated horizontal, not the square format that Flickrtoys forced me to do.
