Well I just couldn't make it down there today, but nice to see an image which gives an idea of size and proportion. You must have been fairly high up here in a great shot spot Gonzo, and made the most of your prominent position.

thank you all. I was a bit cynical about the thing. it cost twice as much as the Sultan's Elephant - £1.8m and rising - and didnt seem very cuddly. compared with a cute 20 feet high Girl Giant and a 40 feet high Elephant. But Liverpool, despite the rain, was en fete for the Spider and tens of thousands turned out to see it. It was probably inhibited by the narrow streets and had to keep its legs high off the ground, which undernmined its 1000:1 scale realism. But despite all that carping, it was impressive.
