2008 - 10 - Caples Track, Otago, New Zealand

Shots from the overnight track I made on the back of the Routeburn Track, linking the Greenstone Saddle back with Lake Wakitipu.

I've made the Greenstone track which parallels this one, starting and ending in the same place and is the usual route for those making a loop off the Routeburn.

The Greenstone is nice, but the Caples is far nicer to me, much greater variety, and much better scenery. It's also quieter, you will have it to yourself much of the time, particularly if you are camping.

One word of advice - bring repellent!!!!!! :-)
