Dick's Cafe (dubbed 'Cholesterol Gulch' by one of my dad's friends) was one of the few remaining roadside drive-in diners in Las Cruces from the city's mid-20th century heydey.
Unfortunately, someone must have asked for a burger to be extra well-done and a fire broke out.
The owners had to relocate to a new location in the old Monte Vista Center on Main St., but I understand that this site is now fixed up and back-in-business (see my image of the rebuilt Dick's Cafe ).
