November 2009, Carlsbad Cavern NP, NM

This was our first time shooting an underground cave. We were lucky to start with the impressive cave in Carlsbad National Park. The artificial lighting created nice colors and worked very well with those huge stalactites and stalagmites. There were so many subjects to shoot!

Golden Harbor

Golden Harbor

December 2009, St Thomas, USVI

We spent our 2009 Xmas vacation in Porto Rico and USVI. We stayed 4 days in a B&B located high in the mountain with fabulous ocean view. This was a shot taken from our balcony. In fact this was the only shot taken in early morning light during our entire trip. It was such a relaxing trip that we decided not to get up early at all, which was nice. :)

Wave of Color

Wave of Color

June 2010, Lower Antelope Canyon, AZ

We love Lower Antelope Canyon even more than the upper one. It's less crowded, longer and you can stay 4 hours with a photo pass. We were able to really take our time in the canyon. Grace found this spot near the top of canyon where reflected light brought out a lot colors. It was quite hard to shoot though. She had to set up tripod in a tight spot, point the lens all the way up, down on her knees and use long exposure. We are very happy about how it came out. This is definitely not a shot we can get from upper antelope canyon where there were always hundreds of people moving around.

Yellowstone Lake

Yellowstone Lake

May 2009, Yellowstone National Park

This is a file that I skipped initially. I took it in a late afternoon when I tried to find the best spot for sunrise shot the next morning. The lake is not a perfect sunset spot because the sun would be blocked an hour before sunset. But I had a really interesting sky, which worked really well with the glaciers in the background.

Here is the link to the sunrise shot I took.
