The Cheyenne *was* a magic place...yeah, I really love the neon, glass and sexy-curvy chrome. Let's hope it gets moved to Wyoming or upstate.

A bit of good news!
They are planning to move it to Red Hook. It is nice they are saving it, but it isn't nice you can't get a good reasonably priced nosh across from B&H anymore.

That's definitely good news - and maybe RH will be a more pleasant location. I'm just happy it's staying in the city.

Such a fine shot of Cheyenne...(and I've seen a lot of photos of it)!

I work down the block from Cheyenne. I hear they're going to build a high-rise condo there....cause, ya know, Manhattan really needs another one of those...

Watch, the ground floor will probably sport another one of the following:

1. Starbucks
2. Subway
3. Dunkin Donuts
4. Chase Bank

I'll put $1 down on a bank. There was a Starbucks a couple of blocks down on 9th Ave that (gasp!) closed...

The only good thing is that the space is too small for a Duane Reade.

Yes, the evil, evil, evil Starbucks where I had a virtually new Canon EOS Rebel T2 film SLR stolen 3 1/2 years ago. Good fucking riddance.

Hello,

I'm a native New Yorker and I run a hyperlocal site in Birmingham, AL called The Terminal and I wanted to let you know that we used your photo for a story about the moving of the Cheyenne down here.

NYC's Cheyenne Diner being moved to Birmingham, The Terminal, 1.15.2009

Let me know if you want us to remove the image and we will. Thanks for your time.

Hi acnatta

Cool - I hope you'll be enjoying burgers in the Cheyenne soon. Although I'm terribly disappointed that NYC is losing this landmark, I'm glad to know it's going to continue it's life in Birmingham.
