The lily in my goldfish pond has gone nuts this year and so I couldn't help but get a photo of one in its summery splendour.

This was taken with a Canon 50mm f/1.2 lens which is a lethal piece of kit I don't use anywhere near often enough.

An Australasian Gannet (Sula Bassana Serrator) cruising over Muriwai Beach in New Zealand. I liked the way the rolling breakers frame this bird.

An Australasian Gannet coming in to land at the Muriwai Gannet Colony just north-west of Auckland New Zealand. This is a great place to capture these magnificent birds coming in from the ocean and looking to find a roosting spot.

This was taken at the base of the Mountain Road - the colours and details up this close and at this time of the year are pretty spectacular.
