More in camera pano action for you. This is the Parliament building in Taipei. Taiwanese politics are more often than not, explosive to say the least. Legislative sessions have been known to erupt in anger, resulting in middle aged to older men and women in suits brawling on the house floor. Just google Taiwan Parliament Fights and check out the images. Which is in complete contrast to the overall politeness of the Taiwanese population at large (or at least, certainly the many folks we encountered during our visit).
This was shot on a rainy day from across the boulevard. The guards refused to let me shoot from the same side of the street as the building, but had no issue if I just walked across the street. Don't ask me how that makes it any less of a security risk, but whatever. I was tempted to yell "Photography is NOT a crime!", but knowing that the politicians inside could get quite violent, I didn't want to imagine what these guards would be like if I hadn't complied. Especially given that it was only a couple days away from the presidential elections.
