Commentsyufen* [deleted] says:WOW! This image is electrifying! Your
treatment is FAB, dear Carrie. Very arty and
poetic: a small leaf of life swinging in the
craddle of a river of ideological Oriental
Red. It is surreal, too, with that neon sign
speaking loud in this little boat's red
chamber of dream. This image reminds me of
two movies, Indochine and L'Amant.... yufen* [deleted] says:I was also thinking about Arthur Rimbaud's
poem "Le Bateau Ivre" (The Druken
Boat) except that this little boat is drunken
in the Asian Red...:) Yarnie Spinner

I took this photo from our hotel balcony and I really like the way it turned out. It was deliberately taken out of focus and then I processed it a bit more to make it look like a painting. I like the contrast between the modern flashing neon lights and the old style Vietnamese fisherman's boat. The red reflection on the water sheds light on the past.
