GKP SOUTH ASIA 2008: Powering South Asia
with Entrepreneurship and Education drew
over 100 representatives from key
organisations in South Asia working in
ICT for Development gathered in
Kathmandu, Nepal on 18-19 June 2008 to
share knowledge and build partnerships
around opportunities and challenges in
the area of entrepreneurship, education
as well as climate change adaptation.
OneWorld South Asia's Naimur Rahman,
GKP South Asia Regional Coordinator,
deftly mobilised GKP South Asian members
via interactive discussions to identify
concrete partnerships ideas for the
Regional Network during a half-day South
Asia Regional Meeting on 19 June, which
took place in conjunction with the
regional event.
The 2-day meeting was organised via a
multistakeholder partnership between GKP
Nepal members Forum for Information
Technology (FIT); High Level Commission
for Information Technology (HLCIT);
National Information Technology Center
(NITC); International Centre for
Integrated Mountain Development
(ICIMOD)/Mountain Forum; Bellanet and
Panos South Asia.
