Alpine Desert

A couple of porters head down the mountain through this alpine desert landscape. Mt Kilimanjaro National Park, Tanzania. In the background is Mawenzi peak (the second highest peak after Uhuru).

awesome photos mate, looking forward to doing an africa trip later this year. Would you recommend dragoman as an operator? Also i see you used a 30d what lens did you take to africa? kilimanjaro looks awesome! was it hard?

Thanks. Yeah I would definitely recommend Dragoman - I've been with them in China as well as Africa. I took an EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS and an EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS. You definitely need to take a telephoto lens for all the wildlife photos. A polarizing filter and lens hoods are also must haves for photos like this one - the African sun is very bright and glarey. And yes, Kilimanjaro was hard, but definitely worth it!
