Young Lake Sunset
Yesterday was the a once-in-a-lifetime event --the planet Venus came
between us and the sun, causing it to appear as dot on the sun.
Obviously, you can’t look at the sun directly so I made a device to
view it and went down to Young Lake, on Hoke Road to view it. I then
watched the sun until it had set behind some clouds. I then noticed
this lovely purple glow coming from where the sun had just set. The
afterglow of the sun and its reflection made me run back to my car and
grab my camera. The colors in the sky and the reflection on the lake
really engage the viewer. It almost looks abstract with the silhouette
of the tree line dividing the photo in two. The only real indication
of the proper orientation of the photo is the reeds at the bottom of
the photo.
