It takes a lot of patience to make self portraits but I need the practice. All the fun of setting up lighting and positioning everything and actually making the photo is balanced with the tedium of setting up a tripod, positioning focus and framing from in front of the camera holding a remote. A glass of Macchia "Dangerous" port was a just reward.

My exploration in making use of small spaces continues. The setup barely fit in the room. I planned on removing the tape seam in post but it proved unnecessary. The camera on tripod was almost against the opposing wall. While making the actual photograph I was standing a bit further back.

A family heirloom from my wife's side. It came to America on a ship around the Cape in the 19th century. It was restored and is playable.

I wasn't too happy with the lack of space in our house to take photos of large objects. After trying my best I found myself cropping tighter than I wanted. In my haste to position and light it, I totally forgot about the pictures of our kids on the wall and they are reflected in the polished surface. Oh well!

It was late at night and I no longer recall the lighting setup, but I positioned a few speedlites at various angles until I got it right. I then did extensive editing to the walls and baseboards that I lated cropped out.
