Today, Jason and I went to La Teresita. I had palomilla steak w garbanzos and yellow rice. This was my placemat. This Florida themed placemat is common in many non-chain Florida restaurants. It has brief nods to Florida's Spanish past, its history of piracy, its wildlife, fishing and water sports, it's Native American past, the citrus industry and the space program. This placemat is definitely kitsch, but still, just the kind of thing to have around.
