NASA Image High Park Fire, Colorado June 11

    Colorado's High Park Fire has already burned 41,140 acres or approximately 64 square miles and continues to burn and generate large amounts of smoke seen by NASA satellites. On June 11, 2012 at 1935 UTC (3:35 p.m. EDT) the light brown colored smoke and the heat signatures from the fires were detected by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument that flies onboard NASA's Aqua satellite.
