yes! and the dress-- something I found at the
thrift store back in december. I have been
counting the days until she could wear it. :)

omg. you have no idea. I have wanted one for
so long now. I've had my eye on a couple of
lenses for a while but knew deep down that my
first one had to be the 50mm. I keep telling
ward, I love this lens... I love this
lens.... I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS LENS. so, to
answer your question, yes.

this is beautiful!
can i ask how you feel about not being able
to autofocus the 50mm 1.8 on a d40?
i have a d40 and this lens and sometimes it
bothers me that i can't autofocus. i'd like
to hear your perspective :)
but i admit this lens is a gem!

redrobinland, I'm sort of mixed about it...
I mean, on the one hand, I tend to manually
focus most of the time anyway... though I do
find this to be a bit trickier with the 50mm
lens. I don't know if my eyes are going or
what. and sometimes I think something is in
focus only to discover it's not once I've
uploaded it. which is a bit frustrating. but
I love the lens, I really really do. totally
worth the extra effort. an auto-focus option
sure would be nice, though. :)

i have a d80 and the 50mm 1.8 and there are
many times with the autofocus that i think
it's in focus and when i upload it it
definitely is NOT. sometimes i wish i'd
gotten the 1.4, but that wasn't in my budget
(i wanted the lens n.o.w.). or maybe it's
just me - my eyes are definitely going.
anyway, lovely photo. that dress is as
perfect as it gets.

wrt focusing -- I wonder if part of the
issue has to do with getting used to the very
narrow depth of field at the larger apertures
of which this lens is capable. Through the
viewfinder, maybe you think you've got the
eyes in focus, but you look at it later and
realize that you've gotten the tip of the
nose in perfect focus, but the eyes are a
little blurry.

jeremy, you're absolutely right. loving the
wide aperture but my eyes are definitely in
the process of adjusting.
young@art, I can totally see that. nothing
but love for the 50.
