Sad Face Seoul Totem

Sad Face Seoul Totem by danielbridgeport.
Walking through Seoul's Olympic Park in May 1989, this sad faced totem that stood along the main walk caught my eye. The Korean people are acquainted with sadness and grief throughout their long history of 5000 years. Korea, laying between Russia, China, and Japan, has been described as a shrimp laying between whales. Yet the Korean people have more than persevered. They have thrived. And at no time more than following the Seoul Olympics in 1986.
