Up 'til Dawn

This is my 30 Days of Gratitude picture for November 4:

Today, I want to talk about how grateful I am that I have a job that lets me interact with people who are passionate about what they do, and allows me to feel like I'm making a difference. Sometimes I work really long hours, I miss being home, and I skip out on other things I'd like to do, but at the end of the day, I can't deny that it feels great to help people engage with the issues they care about most. Tonight was our letter-writing campaign for St. Jude as a part of the Up 'til Dawn, and everything went really well. It's kind of cool - today at work, I spoke with students about places they can go nearby to volunteer, I helped organize a voter registration drive at the local homeless shelter, I researched books about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, and I helped students mobilize a huge fundraiser for children with cancer. I'm grateful to have this opportunity, even when it means being on campus late many nights.
