Organizing apps by verbs instead of categories

    Newer Older

Coming from Android I'm still getting used to the limitations of the iPhone home screen. I miss widgets and the apps drawer. Took me some time, but I finally have my apps organized by what they help me do, versus iOS's suggested folder names like "reference" and "productivity."

My Newsstand is empty too, and I pushed it far away to a back screen

Nice! I really like this way of organizing them.

That's clever. I like what you did about having all the apps in just one screen. Flicking almost compulsively to find an app gets old really quick.

Hey Gina, does you Todo app sync with services like Toodledo?.

      Good idea! :-)

@Thirsty Dragon Not Toodledo, just Dropbox.

I think on a sprint iPhone you can have native google voice. Boy that would be cool!

Lol. You can easily create folders using Android 4.0 and they look as pretty as in iOS. Actually I prefer Android's User Interface!
Maybe you just didn't know about that :)

Obviously your choices work for you, but I would substitute Look Up with Search (or Research), and Set Up with Configure.

Excellent! Definitely going to give this a try. Any chance you be willing to share a list of some of your apps? I'm particularly interested in those in Jot, Learn, and Read. And Navigate. And Set Up. :)

Hi Gina, I second cabosdaddy's request for a list of some of your more used apps also I noticed you haven't got Dropbox in any of your folders but it's required for Todo.txt to work is it just a case of you don't access it on your phone even though it's installed? Just wondering.

It's in the Lookup folder bottom left hand side.

This is very anal... and I love it! And you take it to another level by alphabetizing the folders too. Nice!
