This is a Plastic Sphere Dispenser (PSD) machine. It injects glycol (antifreeze) into a plastic sphere containing potassium permanganate, which is then expelled from the machine and aircraft. This produces an exothermic reaction resulting in ignition of fuels on the ground.

Sounds good to me. I know the area well and by air is the only way in, during a fire. And I know about the only way to control a huge fire is by using "back burns" . This makes a burned spot that the main fire cannot cross, if done properly.
I am sure sorry God set this area on fire.
